What it means
Shouting wig, or wig snatched, is a burst of amazement at something so impressive it metaphorically knocked your hairpiece clean off. The drag-born cry for a jaw-dropping moment.

Where it comes from
It comes out of Black and Latinx drag and ballroom culture in the US. The idea is that a look or performance hits so hard it snatches your wig clean off. From there, wig turned into a punchy reaction word for being stunned, thrilled, or totally blown away.
