How we protect your data
Not much at all, honestly. If you get in touch or place an order, we keep your email, your name and the shipping details needed so your Magikitos can find their way home. The basics, nothing more.
We do not use your data for anything shady, Magikito's word! We never sell it, share it with dark spirits or hand it to anyone. We only use it to manage your order and to chat with you if you write to us.
We use artificial intelligence (OpenAI API) for very specific things: transcribing the audio our community publishes (that is how jokes and stories get their text and subtitles), giving each piece a title and sorting it by theme, translating the website into other languages and painting illustrations, like the magical profile portraits.
What we do NOT do: no robot reads your messages or builds a profile about you. When you write to us on WhatsApp or through the contact form, a real person reads and answers you. No automated analysis and no machine-made decisions about your account.
This data is processed securely and never shared publicly. OpenAI has their own privacy policy where they explain how they handle information. We trust them, and you can trust us.
We use technical and functional cookies to keep the website running smoothly. Think of them as breadcrumbs we leave so we don't get lost in the internet forest. Without them, the site can't remember who you are or what you were doing.
We don't use Google Analytics or any third-party tracking tools, and we set no cookies for this. The only thing we do is our own anonymous analytics: we measure which pages get visited and how people move around the site, using an anonymous identifier stored in your own browser (never your name or email), to understand which content people enjoy most and improve the site. That data never leaves here and is never shared with anyone. The other cookies are just the strictly necessary ones for the shop and cart to work.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings if you like, but the site might go a bit bonkers and not work as it should. That's technology for you.
To learn which content people enjoy and read, we measure everything ourselves, with no Google Analytics and no third parties. Your browser keeps an anonymous identifier in localStorage that recognises the device (not the person) so we never count you twice. It is never linked to your real identity unless you sign up with us.
When you react to something (mushroom, laugh, magic, feeling) we store that reaction on our servers tied to your account, so each person counts only once. If you want to clear the local trail, wipe your browser storage and write to us to delete your account if you have one.
Payments go directly through Stripe, which is super secure and reliable. We never see or store your card details. Not the number, not the CVV, nothing. Everything goes straight between your bank and Stripe, without us touching any of that sensitive information.

You have every right in the world to access, rectify or delete your data whenever you want. Just drop us an email at [email protected] and we'll sort it out in a flash. No ifs, no buts.

When you record and submit audio (a story or a joke in the Studio, or your voice on an expression), that audio is published on Magikitos publicly, tied to your Magikito name and profile, and anyone can listen to it and share it. We transcribe it with Whisper to show the text next to the voice.
We ask for your permission before publishing. Once you give it, we remember it in your account so we do not ask again on every submission. If you want to withdraw it or delete a recording, write to us at [email protected] and we will do it.
