What this is
What is this Magikitos thing?
We are a gang of brownies looking after everyday joy. We are born when someone takes a happy shit in the woods, and here we share stories, jokes and curious words. Everything is free.
Who is behind all this?
The Magikitos bring the world, and the community brings its voices, stories and ideas. Every contribution keeps its credit. Read about our beginnings in the Magikitos story.
What are the 12 Sparks?
The twelve energies that make up each Magikito's character: love, loyalty, fortune, protection, calm, joy, creativity, wisdom, adventure, nature, home and dreams. Every creature carries its own mix.
And you have yours too, even if you don't know it yet. Have a nose around the 12 Sparks.

What are the stories?
Audio stories that people record in their own voice, each one with its pencil illustration and a bit of music underneath. Stories about anything at all, with no forced morals: the values turn up on their own or they do not turn up. You will find them in Stories and as a podcast too.
And the jokes?
Jokes told out loud, the way they were told before daft videos came along. People record them and they go up straight away. They are in Jokes, sorted by theme and collection.
Where do I start reading the Taramundi story?
In Taramundi you have the online book, chapter by chapter and narrated: where we come from, how we ended up in the forest and everything that happened along the way. Read it and listen to it at your own pace.

How do I record a joke or a story?
Straight from your browser, nothing to install. A joke is press and tell it: your voice and that is it. A story is recorded the same way and you can add effects too. We clean the sound, level it and, on stories, add the background music and the illustration. It stays with your Magikito name and the voice stays public.
How do I add an expression to the dictionary?
Easier than opening a yoghurt. In the Slangtionary you go to Contribute, write the expression and tell us about it in your own voice: what it means, an example, where it is from. A guardian Magikito checks it and, if it stacks up, publishes it with your name. You can also improve one that is already there.
Who is the guardian Magikito?
Every expression in the dictionary has a Magikito looking after it. If something does not stack up, hit a challenge on its entry, say "That is not what it means", and tell it. It checks, changes whatever needs changing and answers back with its usual cheek. Mind you: the cheek goes at the Magikito, never at whoever recorded.
What are the voting mushrooms?
You can give every joke, every story and every voice in the dictionary one to five mushrooms. It is anonymous, you do not need an account and you can change your mind. The mushrooms feed the ranking of the coolest ever.
What are setines?
Well, being the proper Magikitos we are, we measure everything in setines, which work both for measuring the absolutely relative magnitude of things and for reputation around here. You earn them by bringing stuff in: an expression, a voice, a joke, a story, a vote on the Shroometer or making the all-time ranking. They cannot be cashed in for anything, there are no discounts and no prizes: they are the sign that you have brought good vibes, and they show up on your profile.
Do I need an account?
To listen, read and vote, no. To contribute, no either: we hand you a Magikito identity on the spot. If you want your stuff to stay with you and show up on your profile, come in with your email or with Google at Log in. No passwords: we send a 6-digit code to your email.
What do you do with my data? Can I delete everything?
We keep the bare minimum: your email or your phone so we recognise you, and whatever you publish. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising, which is why there is no banner to close. You can delete your account from your settings in one click, and whatever you published stays without your name on it. It is all spelled out in the privacy policy.

What is the Shroometer?
The Magikitos' measuring device: it compares things that in principle cannot be compared, with the mushroom as the unit. You vote between two, find out what everybody else reckons and see how odd you are. Give it a go.
What is the Magikitos Quiz?
A test that works out which sparks resonate with you. You can take it for yourself or with someone else in mind: the questions adapt and the result tells you which Magikito suits you. It opens from the 12 Sparks.
The handmade figures
What are the brownie figures?
They are handmade cold porcelain figures that give us a face. Each brownie has a page with real photos, a name and a story. No two are alike.
Can I buy the brownies?
No. The figures are made for the love of creating and shown for you to meet. There are no prices or buy buttons. Read what matters to us in our manifesto.
What are they made of?
The figures are made of cold porcelain over a wire, recycled paper and wadding structure. They wear fabric scraps and small woodland details such as twigs, stones and moss.
Are they handmade?
The figures are shaped, painted and dressed by hand, without moulds. That's the craft. Our origin as brownies is a rather less dignified story, which you can read in how we are born.
How do I look after my Magikito?
No water: a dry cloth for the dust, out of direct sunlight and somewhere it cannot fall. Cold porcelain holds up well, but a hard knock is a hard knock. And talk to it, that makes its day. There is a full care guide.
