Why I do this
An honest reflection on creating, selling and sharing magic in a world that moves too fast
Being honest
Yes, I sell things on this website. Yes, there's an exchange of money for a product. And I know that might seem contradictory with all this talk about magic, friendship gnomes and everyday joy.
I'm sure some people think: "look at this woman, going on about magic when all she really wants is to sell figurines".
And hey, you're perfectly entitled to think that. I'm not going to argue with you.
The truth of the matter
When I really stop to think about it, I genuinely couldn't care less whether I sell or not. I make Magikitos because it relaxes me, I write these words because it sets me free, and I keep adding colour to the things I imagine because that's my way of living.
I don't need money for any of that.
What I need is to create. To feel the porcelain between my fingers. To watch something come to life. That's what truly fulfils me.
When someone buys a Magikito
I don't feel like I'm deceiving anyone. At the end of the day, you're paying for the materials and helping me buy coffee, cider, a few groceries, and cover the electricity and water bills.
The Magikitos exist because I create them. And if you decide to take one home, brilliant. But if not, also brilliant. They'll keep on existing regardless.
This isn't a business. It's a way of life that, along the way, helps pay the bills.
What I truly care about
Creating with my hands
It's my therapy, my refuge, my way of disconnecting from the world and connecting with myself.
Authenticity
No pretence, no smoke and mirrors. What you see is what you get.
Sharing magic
If my Magikitos brighten someone's day, well, that's the best reward in the world.
Living in peace
No rush, no pressure, no need to prove anything to anyone.
The real magic
The magic isn't in selling. It's in creating. It's in that moment when a piece of porcelain becomes a smiling little face. It's in foraging for moss in the forest. It's in shaping something that only existed in my head.
And if someone decides to adopt one of these little creatures and take it home, the magic multiplies. Because then that Magikito becomes part of another person's life.
But the magic was already there before. Money neither creates it nor destroys it.
What I am NOT
- I'm not a company with sales targets
- I don't have a marketing plan or a commercial strategy
- I'm not going to get rich selling Magikitos (and I don't care)
- I'm not looking to scale, optimise or convert
I'm just a person who makes little things with her hands and, along the way, shares them with you. If you decide you want one of those little things in your life, wonderful. And if not, also wonderful. There's no pressure and no catch here.
Some moments that truly fulfil me
In the end
This is who I am: a person who creates because she needs to create, who shares because it comes from the heart, and who charges just enough to keep doing it.
No grand ambitions. No tricks. No magic beyond these hands and the imagination.
