"Gag, or to be gagged, is to be left speechless, basically, at something, mainly, usually in a positive way. An example would be, did you see Lady Gaga's concert last night? I was gagged at her outfit."
What it means
To gag, or be gagged, means something hit so hard you’re basically left speechless. It’s usually praise, especially for looks, performances, beauty, or a reveal that just knocked the vowels out of your mouth. It came up through Black queer and drag slang, then spread wide through pop culture and online talk.
Usage examples
"Did you clock her Met Gala look? I was fully gagged, babe, the dress, the hair, the whole entrance had everybody acting like oxygen was optional."
"When she turned that corner in the finale, I was gagged. Face immaculate, dress doing witchcraft, whole room lost its mind."
"Nah, that reveal gagged me bad. I had to put my phone down and just stare at the wall for a sec."
"That runway had me gagged, not even gonna lie. She stepped out and the whole group chat went spiritually offline."
"Babe, when he dropped the surprise guest, I was gagged. Proper hand-over-mouth, no thoughts, just pure scream energy."

Edit, fix or tell us something. We review it and, if it is true, you will see it applied with your name on it.
Where it comes from
It grows out of the older literal sense of gagging, being choked off or stopped at the mouth. In Black queer and drag spaces, especially ballroom culture, it got flipped into a sharp way to say something stunned you into silence. From there it travelled into mainstream pop culture and internet slang.
