The land of the free and the home of slang that takes over the world. From coast to coast, American English churns out new words faster than Hollywood makes sequels. Valley girls, hip-hop heads, Southern drawlers and Brooklyn hustlers all throw into the same melting pot of language.

silent repost
Janna Β· United States
"Silent repost is basically just a statement you say because when you want to repost something... let's get into reposting. Basically when there's something on TikTok or Instagram that you really relate with, it could be a post or just basically a post like a video or a photo or like a caption or whatever, you have the option to repost it, which basically means you agree with it. So silent repost is basically when something that you secretly relate to and you don't really want people to know about it publicly, but you just really relate to it. So people usually comment like, oh, silent repost, this. Because it won't show up on your page, on your account, so people won't really know that you relate to this, you know, the post or whatever, unless the post also shows up on their feed and then they see your comment. It's not that common. Or you don't really have to comment, you can just say, oh, like silent repost. I can say it to your closest friend or someone else like, oh okay, silent repost. An example would be, oh my god, have you seen this breakup edit? It's so relatable, silent repost."
Put me on
Janna Β· United States
"Put me on is used when you're telling someone to like, oh, okay, like introduce me to this thing. Let me know what it is or like, you know, maybe you're like eating somewhere or I don't know, like you're at a friend's house and they ordered food for you from a really good place and you wanted to ask what it is. You'd ask them to like put you on, or it could be music or like clothing. It can be just literally anything. Just put you on to something that's really good. An example would be, oh my God, who is this artist? This song is fire, put me on."
be so for real
Janna Β· United States
"be so for real is basically telling someone like okay like come on like be serious or like stop joking or like stop exaggerating or like like come on you're like overdoing it that's basically be so for real an example would be oh my god you just paid $30 for coffee be so for real"
Motion
Janna Β· United States
"Motion is basically, you know, having success, popularity, money, good things going on in your life in general. That's basically just having motion. An example would be, oh my God, we both got an internship at the Big Four, we got motion, twin."
we listen and we don't judge
Janna Β· United States
"we listen and we don't judge basically, what the words say it's basically a safe space to confess something that you've done, usually done in a joking manner but you still confess true things and it's a safe space where no one judges you and it's usually just weird things that a person would do or kinda odd but usually you won't really just admit to publicly it's kind of like a trend on tiktok pops every once in a while they just start we listen and we don't judge and then they say their confession after that usually kids have done it with their parents where kids admit to doing something behind their parents back and they use this trend as a way for their parents not to punish them an example would be we listen and we don't judge i still sleep with my nightlight on"

Silent repost

A silent repost is when a post hits way too close, you fully feel it, but you're not trying to publicly stamp your name on that feeling. So instead of actually reposting it, you call it a silent repost. It's big in TikTok and Instagram talk, basically a quiet little same here without putting your emotional laundry on the front porch.

"That breakup edit popped up again and we are not letting the timeline clock our business, so yeah, silent repost and keep it moving."

Put me on

Means show me what this is, plug me into it, or introduce me to something good. You use it when someone’s got a song, spot, style, or food place that’s clearly hitting and you want in. It’s got that friendly recommendation vibe, half curiosity, half demand, like stop gatekeeping and share the sauce already.

"Yo, this taco spot is unreal and that playlist in the background is fire too, put me on to both before we leave, twin."

Be so for real

You throw this at somebody when they're being absurd, doing the most, or expecting you to treat their nonsense like it deserves applause. It's basically a longer, sharper be serious with side-eye all over it. Perfect for weak excuses, fake-sounding stories, or moments where someone's dragging the drama way past reasonable.

"Girl, you paid thirty bucks for an iced latte and a sad croissant? Be so for real, that cafΓ© is robbing yall in daylight."

Motion

Means someone is really up right now and it's showing. They've got money coming in, people paying attention, doors opening, plans landing, the whole thing. You use it when somebody's not just talking big but actually moving, winning, and getting visible results. If life feels lit, active, and on the rise, that's motion.

"Girl, we both locked those Big Four internships and everybody knows our names now, we got motion twin, let's go celebrate before reality clocks in."

We listen and we don't judge

A little pre-confession ritual people say before dropping a weird, embarrassing, or low-stakes truth and asking everybody to keep the shame police off duty. It took off hard online, especially on TikTok, where it became a game for spilling harmless secrets that are equal parts cozy honesty and chaos bait.

"We listen and we don't judge, I still rewatch my own story after posting it just to see if I looked cool, low key."

Voices of the people

Theory is all well and good... but what we Magikitos really love is hearing the people of United States in their natural flow. If you know a typical expression from there, record it in the Studio using it with a real example. We will add it to the voices of your area!
