Where it comes from
Rn is just the clipped initialism of right now. It grew out of texting, chatrooms, and early instant messaging where people shaved phrases down to the bare bones for speed. From there it stuck hard in everyday online talk, then spilled into captions, DMs, and casual written English everywhere.
