"A win is a win, basically whatever success it is, whatever win it is, you know, you win at something, no matter how small it may be, it is still a win, you still won at something. It could be, I don't know, you passed an exam, you passed a course, you got paid, literally any small thing, or it doesn't even have to be small, it could be anything, a win is a win, anything positive that's happened to you. An example would be, oh my god bro, I just passed Orgo 2, might be a D, but a win is a win."

What it means

It means a success still counts even if it was tiny, scrappy, ugly, or nowhere near the dream version in your head. You say it to give a little credit where it's due and stop perfectionism from stealing the vibe. Super common online and in everyday chat when somebody wants to celebrate the dub, even if it came in sideways.

Usage examples

"I got a D in Orgo and my fries were still warm when I got home, but a win is a win and we move."
"My refund finally hit and I found a tenner in my winter coat. A win is a win."
"Yeah the team played like absolute soup, but we still got the three points. A win is a win."
