"Pussy. Someone who is a coward. Too scared to do things and take risks. Alright, you got your fake ID ready? I don't know man, I'm not sure about this idea. What if we get caught? Aw come on, stop being such a fucking pussy and get in line."

What it means

A blunt, vulgar insult for someone being cowardly, weak, or too rattled to follow through. People chuck it out in banter, arguments, dares, and trash talk, with the sting depending on who says it and how hard they lean on it. Common in everyday slang, but definitely rude and easy to tip from jokey into properly insulting.

Usage examples

"You drove two hours for the tattoo, saw the needle, then bailed at the door? Man, do not start acting like a pussy now."
"You booked the rollercoaster, queued for forty minutes, then ducked under the bar at the loading gate. Do not act like a pussy now, mate, we paid for the picture."
"He talked the whole week about asking the boss for a raise and then walked into the meeting and asked about the printer. Total pussy move, the office is still laughing."
"You were loud as anything before the fight got announced, now you're suddenly busy? Pussy."
"Bro said he'd jump off the pier all afternoon, then took one look at the water and bottled it. Absolute pussy."

Edit, fix or tell us something. We review it and, if it is true, you will see it applied with your name on it.

Where it comes from

As an insult, pussy grew out of using a word for female genitals as a put-down for fear, softness, or lack of nerve. That usage spread hard in 20th century English, especially in macho banter, school talk, and trash talk. It’s common slang now, but loads of people hear it as sexist.
