A sweat is someone who goes way too hard in something that's meant to be chill, especially in games. They're locked in, min-maxing every move and treating a casual lobby like there's prize money on the line. Usually said as a diss, but sometimes with a tiny bit of respect because yeah, they're annoyingly good.

Where it comes from
It comes from the plain idea of sweating from effort. By the 1990s and early 2000s, gaming and sports chat started using sweat for someone playing with full-on intense tryhard energy. From there it stuck as a noun for the player who's taking a casual match far too seriously.
