What it means
Battered means you’re properly drunk, not just rosy-cheeked. The booze has absolutely done you in, so you’re wobbling, talking nonsense, and making decisions you’ll regret by breakfast. You’ll hear it after a big night out, footy, or a messy work do. Also used for feeling physically knackered, depending on context.
Usage examples
"By chucking-out time Dave was battered, trying to pay for chips with his gym card, then telling the bouncer they’re basically family."
"He got absolutely battered at the stag do and tried to order a kebab from the cashpoint."
"Two glasses of wine and she's battered, lightweight, can't even finish the third without singing."
