A deliberately sexy photo posted to fish for attention, likes and comments. The gym mirror selfie, the just woke up like this shot that clearly took an hour. Thirst is the craving for validation, and the picture is the bait set to catch it.

Where it comes from
This one grew straight out of internet slang in the 2010s. Thirsty was already everywhere online for acting a bit desperate for sex, attention, or validation. Add trap and you get the whole picture: a post designed to lure people in, spark replies, and harvest thirsty reactions.
