Street voices
"Um, crash out is basically to completely like lose control or to like lose it emotionally, mentally, um, over something. Basically, millennials or older would say, lose your marbles, but Gen Z say, crash out. So an example would be, oh my god man, you're crashing out because your situationship left you on read, right?"
What it means
To crash out is to lose your composure completely, melting down or doing something reckless because anger or stress just boiled over. It is the moment patience snaps and you blurt out or do the thing you cannot take back.
Usage examples
"He crashed out in the group chat over a meme and left everyone stunned."
"Do not crash out at the referee, you will only get yourself sent off."
"Bro really crashed out over two laughing emojis and started posting paragraphs."
"Don't crash out on live just because they clipped your bad take."

Where it comes from
This newer slang sense grew out of African American Vernacular English and rap-heavy online speech in the US, where crash out came to mean spiraling, wilding out, or blowing up emotionally. It sits apart from the older crash out meaning fall asleep fast, even though both use the same words.
