Where it comes from
It comes from British sports talk, especially football, where getting a result meant landing the win or at least the outcome you needed. That sporting sense jumped the touchline and into everyday chat, so Result! became a fast little cheer for any lucky break, bargain, or tiny bit of life behaving itself.
