What it means
Kidcore is the bright, nostalgic aesthetic of being a kid in the 90s and 2000s, primary colours, cartoon stickers, plastic beads, smiley faces, rainbows and everything from the toy box. It's joyful, a bit chaotic and deliberately childish, a comfort-blanket reaction against grown-up minimalism. The louder and more playground it looks, the better.

Where it comes from
Kidcore showed up online in the late 2010s, especially on Tumblr and TikTok, as part of the wider wave of aesthetic labels ending in -core. The name is pretty literal, kid plus core, and it stuck to that bright, toybox nostalgia built from childhood stuff, old cartoons, stickers, crayons and primary-colour chaos.
