"Do better is basically a form of, you know, a way to judge someone for doing something. You're disappointed in them. It's like a critique, I guess, of something you did. An example would be, oh my god, you went back for your ex? Do better."

What it means

A sharp little callout you drop when someone does something disappointing, messy, embarrassing, or plain beneath them. It means you expected more and they need to raise the standard immediately. Common online and in everyday chat, especially when friends are judging terrible decisions with love, annoyance, or both at once. Brutal, but often deserved.

Usage examples

"You really texted your ex at 2 a.m. after swearing you were done? Do better, babe, the clown shoes are squeaking."
"You posted a three-page apology and still blamed everyone else. Do better."
"Nah, don't flirt with me then leave me on read for two days. Do better."
