What it means

Rage applying is firing off a flurry of job applications in a fit of frustration, usually right after your current job has wound you up one too many times. Bad meeting, snubbed promotion, rude boss, and suddenly you're blasting your CV at twenty openings before you've calmed down. Sometimes it actually lands you a better gig, sometimes it's just a vent.

Usage examples

"They cancelled my day off again so I spent the evening rage applying to half the city."
"I rage applied after that meeting and somehow ended up with two interviews, no regrets."
Tone
Funny Youthful

Where it comes from

It spread on TikTok around 2023 as workers shared doing it after a bad day. The name pairs rage with applying, the angry cousin of a calm, planned job hunt.

Voices of the people

Theory is all well and good... but what we Magikitos really love is hearing humans in their natural flow. That's why we collect voice notes that people send us on WhatsApp, recording themselves using the expression with a real, street-level example!
