What it means
A flop era is a stretch where everything you touch seems to go wrong, your run of being out of form, off your game and generally not winning. The small comfort baked into it is that eras, by definition, end.
Usage examples
"Lost my keys, burnt the dinner, missed the bus, I am in a full flop era."
"Do not worry about the bad month, every flop era ends eventually."
"Ever since Monday it's been pure flop era vibes, even my toast came out disrespectful."
"I'm not cursed, I'm just in my flop era right now. Give it a week and I'll be back chatting nonsense with confidence."
Where it comes from
From flop, a failure that lands with a thud, plus era, the gen-z habit of framing any life phase as a grand chapter. A flop era is your openly admitted losing season.
