"GOAT, an acronym for greatest of all time, can also be used as an adjective to say someone or something is GOATED and is also often used in hyperbole to say something is really, really, really good. Did you see Mighty Mouse's flying armbar against Ray Borg? Oh, he is the GOAT!"

What it means

GOAT is the shorthand crown you give to whoever is the greatest of all time, athlete, rapper, your grandma’s cookie game, whatever. People say he’s the GOAT, and it’s turned into goated as an adjective for anything that’s absurdly elite. It’s praise with maximum swagger and zero paperwork. Perfect for hype, banter, or straight up admiration.

Usage examples

"Did you see that last second shot? Dude’s the GOAT. And this playlist is goated too, it’s got everyone yelling in the car."
"My grandma's Sunday roast has no rival on this earth, she is the undisputed goat of the kitchen and the whole street knows it."
"You can argue stats all day, but Serena's the GOAT and that's that."
"That burger spot by the station is actually goated, we went once and now everyone's obsessed."
"Nah, LeBron's still the GOAT to me. I don't care what your spreadsheet says."

Where it comes from

GOAT comes from Greatest Of All Time. The phrase had real lift in US sports, especially around Muhammad Ali, who called himself the greatest and helped turn that whole vibe into a label. From there it spread way past sport, and later people spun off goated for anything top tier.
