Where it comes from
It comes from bug out and bugging out, older American slang for freaking out, panicking, or acting paranoid. That phrasing took deep root in New York street speech and hip-hop talk, then buggin' got clipped down into a sharper everyday call-out for somebody overreacting or moving way off.
