What it means

To bin off is to chuck something or someone aside without a second thought, straight into the metaphorical bin. You bin off a boring party, a dodgy date or a task you cannot face. It is blunt, a bit ruthless, and very British, the sound of someone deciding that whatever it is just is not worth the bother.

Usage examples

"We binned off the gym and went to the pub instead, best decision we made all week if I am honest."
"It was raining so we binned off the hike and went to the pub instead."

Where it comes from

Built on "bin", the rubbish bin, so to bin something off is to chuck it straight in the trash. To bin off a plan, a task, or even a person is to ditch and drop it without ceremony, deciding it is simply not worth the bother.

Voices of the people

Theory is all well and good... but what we Magikitos really love is hearing humans in their natural flow. That's why we collect voice notes that people send us on WhatsApp, recording themselves using the expression with a real, street-level example!
