What it means
A glow-up is a serious upgrade, the moment someone goes from awkward to absolutely radiant. It can be looks, confidence, style or a whole life turning a corner. People post the before and after, the school photo next to the now, and let the difference do all the talking.
Usage examples
"Saw my old classmate at the reunion and honestly the glow-up was unreal, new haircut, new vibe, walked in like a different person."
"Give me a year, a gym membership and a decent skincare routine and I swear the glow-up is going to be ridiculous."
"Have you seen her glow-up since school? Total transformation, walks into the room like she owns it now."
"Nah, his glow-up needs to be studied, man went from yearbook chaos to full main-character settings."
"She disappeared for like six months, came back with a mad glow-up and everyone suddenly remembered how to act."

Edit, fix or tell us something. We review it and, if it is true, you will see it applied with your name on it.
Where it comes from
It comes from African American Vernacular English, showing up by the late 80s and early 90s. The shape riffs on glow plus the pattern of words like grown-up. It spread hard through beauty talk, reality TV, and online before-and-after culture until it became the standard word for a visible personal level-up.
