What it means
Girl dinner is a meal cobbled together from random little bits, crackers, cheese, olives and a handful of grapes, with no cooking and no real plan, gloriously low-effort and somehow perfect. A snack platter promoted to a whole dinner.
Usage examples
"Crackers, hummus and three olives, classic girl dinner."
"Too tired to cook, so it is girl dinner on the sofa tonight."
"My girl dinner was half a baguette, some salami, pickles and whatever chocolate was knocking about."
"Had such a long day I fully gave up and made a girl dinner out of toast, popcorn and sliced cucumber."
Where it comes from
It took off in 2023 after creator Olivia Maher posted a TikTok jokingly calling her picky little plate of bread, cheese, grapes and bits a girl dinner. The phrase blew up fast online and turned into a playful label for those low-effort, snacky dinners people throw together when they can't be bothered to properly cook.
