What it means
A zoomer is someone from Gen Z, the generation that grew up with a smartphone in hand and never knew a world without wifi. Quick with the slang, fluent in memes, baffled by why anyone would make a phone call when you could just text. Coined as the younger answer to boomer, half affectionate, half eye-roll depending on who's saying it.
Usage examples
"My little brother's a proper zoomer, he edits videos faster than I can find the app."
"The zoomers in the office had to teach the rest of us what the slang meant."
Where it comes from
A play on boomer with zoom, the fast online speed of Generation Z. It spread through internet culture in the late 2010s.
