What it means

Said when someone does something so flawlessly there is nothing left to criticise, from a killer outfit to a perfect comeback. It comes from ate, meaning nailed it, taken to the extreme: you ate so completely you left no crumbs behind. Pure praise.

Usage examples

"She walked out, delivered the speech and left no crumbs, the room went silent."
"That outfit, that hair, that confidence, no crumbs."
"That debate clip was nasty in the best way, no crumbs at all."
"Face card, outfit, little turn at the end, no crumbs. She knew exactly what she was doing."

Where it comes from

It comes out of Black LGBTQ+ and drag slang in the orbit of ate and ate that up. The full praise line was ate and left no crumbs, then people clipped it down to no crumbs on its own. Same meaning, same shine, just shorter and punchier.
