What it means
A classic Kiwi way to say something's excellent, spot on, or exactly what you were hoping for. You can use it for food, weather, a bargain, a plan, a surfboard, the whole lot. It's an easy stamp of approval, a bit old-school, and it lands with that relaxed New Zealand glow.
Usage examples
"We hit the dairy after the beach and the pies were still hot, then the sun came out too. Choice day, bro, couldn’t ask for better."
"That feed was choice, best fish and chips I've had since we got down the coast."
"Got the last two tickets for half price, choice, we're sorted for Saturday."
"Borrowed your chilly bin, found a shady spot, and someone rocked up with cold ones too. Choice afternoon."
"That second-hand board was only fifty bucks and barely used. Choice find, eh."
