If there’s one thing that sums up Magikitos, besides their cheeky grin and their habit of nicking socks, it’s their big, unconditional love for nature.
And hey, the moss on their heads and their total obsession with mushrooms isn’t random. Magikitos are forest creatures. Today I’ll tell you why.
Why do Magikitos love the forest?
According to the old stories, meaning according to us, because we totally made them up, Magikitos are born in the forests of Taramundi, a place where fog, moss, and magic are all mixed together like they’re best friends.
The forest is our home. Our inspiration. Our safe place.
When a Magikito wanders into the human world to cause a little mischief, they always bring a tiny piece of the forest along. Moss on their head, a little twig in their hand, a pebble tucked in a pocket...
Being far from nature would feel like being far from ourselves.
Mushrooms are their favourite neighbours. Always alert, always quiet.
What natural bits go into every piece?
When a Magikito is crafted, we don’t use synthetic materials or plastic decorations. Everything natural you see on us is, well, actually natural.
Real moss
The moss we wear on our heads, or as a beard, or tucked into a hat, is real moss. It’s collected on slow walks up in the hills. It’s soft, it smells like the woods, and it gives us that little magic touch no artificial material could ever pull off.
Twigs and bark
Sometimes a Magikito holds a twig like it’s an explorer’s walking stick. Other times, their base is a piece of tree bark. All gathered with care and respect.
Little stones and seeds
Some of us wear tiny pebbles as decoration. Others keep tree seeds. Anything the forest offers, anything that sparks inspiration, can end up becoming part of a Magikito.
What makes moss and mushrooms so magical?
Why are Magikitos so obsessed with moss and mushrooms? Fair question.
Moss: mattress and home
Moss is a Magikito’s favourite mattress. It soaks up moisture, freshens the air, creates tiny perfect microclimates... It’s basically the forest’s magic carpet.
Moss grows slowly. Patiently. No rushing. Exactly how important things should be done.
Mushrooms: quiet companions
Mushrooms are the Magikitos’ favourite neighbours. They show up overnight, live their life in silence, and disappear when it’s time.
Magikitos see them as a reminder that magic can pop up anytime, no warning.
Autumn treasures: walnuts, pomegranates, and calm Magikitos. Perfection.
How to bring nature into your home?
You don’t have to live in the woods to feel close to nature. Magikitos can help you bring that green, magical vibe into your space, even if you’re right in the middle of the city.
1. Adopt plants (and talk to them)
Magikitos adore plants. Keep them near where you work, rest, or study. And yes, talk to them. It’s not weird. It’s what people do when they actually notice life.
2. Add natural finds to your space
A pretty stone, a dry twig, a pine cone... Tiny details that remind you the natural world exists, even when you’re surrounded by concrete.
3. Go for a walk (no rush)
Magikitos don’t run. They wander. They watch. They enjoy. Do the same. A walk in the park, in the countryside, wherever you’ve got, but take it slow.
4. Create your green corner
A small shelf with plants, stones, your Magikito... A little corner that’s just yours, and brings you back to what matters.
When there’s more than one Magikito at home, the forest community shows up. Magic x2.
Activities to reconnect with the outdoors (Magikito style)
Want to live a little more like a Magikito? Here are a few ideas:
Slow observation walks
Head out for a walk with no real destination. Just look around. Leaves, insects, clouds, moss... All the stuff you usually miss when you’re in a hurry.
Collect natural treasures
Pretty stones, pine cones, dry leaves, little twigs... Start your own forest-treasure collection. Magikitos do it all the time.
Sit in silence
Find a quiet spot in nature. Sit down. Do nothing. Just listen to the sounds around you. It’s meditation, without calling it meditation.
Photograph tiny details
With your phone, a camera, whatever you’ve got. Photograph small things. A leaf with dew, a lone mushroom, a curious bug... You’ll see nature with new eyes.
The Magikitos message
If there’s one thing Magikitos want you to get, it’s this:
Nature isn’t something you “visit on weekends”. It’s part of you. Always.
Even if you live in the greyest city on earth, nature is still there. In a plant by your window, in the clouds, in the wind, in that park you never go to...
Magikitos remind you every day. With our moss, our calm, and our mischievous smile.
