This creature has a very delicate job. It takes stealth, soft fingers, and complete faith in baby teeth that are only here for a little while. When the house falls quiet, she slips in on wings that make the gentlest little fuss and checks under the pillow in case a baby tooth is waiting to move on. She has green hair, the kind you only get after spending half your life chatting with fresh moss, a pink dress like a happy bellflower, and a tiny lichen hat brought from the forests of Taramundi. It's basically a neat little piece of combed fog perched on her head.
She stands about 12 centimeters tall, not counting the wings, which don't believe in staying still long enough for a proper measurement. She has that energy small things have when they're clearly in charge and don't need to make a scene. We love her because she's all softness, but she still looks like she knows more secrets than an alley cat.
- She keeps teeth in invisible pockets, and nobody knows where they lead
- She's obsessed with the smell of wet grass after a long night
- If a pillow creaks, she freezes on the spot and pretends she's part of the decor
People say she swaps tiny teeth for coins, but we suspect there's more to it. What she really leaves behind is the first little clue that growing up can be a tiny celebration too.
