All humans are pretty similar. You're the result of millions of years of evolution. You're all born with a couple of little legs, a pair of ears, a pair of arms, and a powerful brain capable of imagining.
Imagining!... oh, how wonderful that sounds!
And the truth is yes, it does sound great. It's just a shame that you're losing this wonderful ability more and more. Days go by and you spend them looking at little things on your phone, consuming things that were already made. Letting someone else imagine for you. Something similar happens to us with the art of doing nothing: sometimes you have to stop for something new to sprout.
And that's not entirely bad. There are many movies, works of art, and everyday things in general that are the result of someone's imagination. That cute mug that brightens your morning, a killer rock song that hits you with nostalgia and makes you feel, even that amazing film that tells you an inspiring story.
Life is full of products of the imagination. And that's fantastic.
The problem is that you're so immersed in living other people's imagination that you no longer let your own run wild.
We, the Magikitos, sometimes also find ourselves caught up in this endless spiral of consuming content that ends up consuming us. We can spend hours lost in la-la land watching travel guides, doing endless scrolling on the screen without even knowing what we're looking for.
And when we realise we're doing this, sometimes we get sad.
Because not everything we see feeds us in a positive and authentic way. In fact, many of the things we see are negative news, problems, fights, upsets... or just things so useless they make no sense. They feed on time... and worse, they feed on our very ability to imagine.
What do Magikitos have to do with imagination?
In this project, we feel we're creating something and using imagination in the purest possible way.
It's a world born from the desire to dream, from wanting something more than empty content that adds nothing, from the desire to bring joy and good vibes to a world dominated by negative news and problems.
For a while there was a little shop on this website, and some might think the usual: 'look at these guys, talking about magic and friendship Brownies and all they want is to sell little figurines.'
Well, not even that. Magikitos are not for sale. The figures are still made for the pleasure of creating (you can see how the figures are made), we write these lines because it frees us, and we keep adding colour to the things we imagine because it's our way of existing. None of that requires money.
We do it for love of the craft, which is the oldest way of doing things and the one that feels best. And if you'd like to meet them, they all live in the Brownies section, without anyone asking for anything in return.
