How to Care for Your Brownie (a Magical Cohabitation Guide)

Congrats! You’ve got a Magikito at home now. And now comes the important bit, making sure your new partner-in-mischief stays happy, cute, and ready to keep stealing your socks for a very, very long time.

Don’t worry, caring for a Magikito is super easy. They don’t need walks. They don’t eat. And nobody’s asking you to change a litter box. But there are a few little things worth knowing so they stay in top shape.

Rule number one: Treat them with love

Even though they’re tougher than they look (they’re made of cold porcelain, and it’s pretty sturdy), Magikitos love gentle handling. They’re not glass, but they’re not a football either. So no throwing, no big drops, and definitely no kung-fu battles with other Magikitos.

Pro tip: If you’ve got little ones at home, tell them Magikitos are special friends. They’re team soft hugs, not team wrestling match.

No water (seriously, none)

Magikitos and water don’t get along. No showers. No baths. No rainy-day adventures. Cold porcelain and water are not besties. If your Magikito gets too wet, they can lose their magic (and a bit of their shape).

If a little dust lands on them (it happens, totally normal), just wipe them with a dry cloth or a soft little brush. Done.

What to do if they get wet by accident: If a few drops fall on them, it’s fine. Dry them right away, gently, and that’s it. Just don’t dunk them in water or leave them out in the rain.

Watch out for direct sun

Magikitos love natural light, but too much direct sun can fade them over time. It’s like us at the beach with no sunscreen, sooner or later we go a bit red. In their case, a bit washed out.

Best spot: A shelf near a window, your desk, your nightstand. Anywhere they can see you and keep you company, without getting blasted by sun all day long.

A safe, steady place

Magikitos are adventurous, but they prefer to stay nicely settled in their spot. Pick somewhere stable, where they won’t take a tumble from an accidental bump. Try to avoid:

  • The edge of a table where someone might knock them
  • High-traffic spots (like on top of the microwave, or next to a door that gets slammed)
  • Places where a pet might mistake them for a toy (cats are very curious)

Great spots: Shelves, desks, display cabinets, nightstands, ledges. Any little corner where they can keep you company without the risk of falling.

Dust: the only real enemy

Over time, like everything at home, they might collect a tiny bit of dust. No big deal. It’s totally normal.

How to clean them:

  • Use a soft, dry cloth (microfiber is perfect)
  • Or a soft brush for those little nooks where dust likes to hide
  • Be gentle, don’t scrub hard
  • And that’s it, good as new

And the wool Fairies?

If you’ve adopted a Fairy made from sheep’s wool, the care is similar, with a couple of tweaks:

  • No water either: Wool mats up and loses its softness
  • Gentle fluffing: If the wool gets a bit squished over time, you can shape it back softly with your fingers
  • Avoid humidity: Fairies prefer dry spaces

What to do if something happens?

Life happens. Things get bumped, they fall, accidents pop up. If your Magikito gets damaged:

  1. Don’t panic. Most little issues can be fixed.
  2. Reach out to me. Send me an email telling me what happened and include a photo. We’ll figure out what we can do.
  3. Don’t glue it with random glue. Some adhesives can damage cold porcelain. If it needs repairing, it’s better to leave it to me.

In short: the quick guide

✅ YES:

  • Treat them with love
  • Place them somewhere stable and safe
  • Dust them with a dry cloth now and then
  • Enjoy their company and their little pranks

❌ NO:

  • Get them wet or dunk them in water
  • Leave them in direct sun all day
  • Put them somewhere they can easily fall
  • Use them as a tennis ball

And above all...

Remember, your Magikito is there to keep you company, to steal a smile when you glance at your desk, and to remind you that magic is real. Enjoy them, take care of them, and let them bring that little hit of everyday joy.
