It was a big night in the town square. The local cinema was packed, buzzing with people hyped for the premiere of a brand-new adventure film. The marquee lights winked happily, and a long line of moviegoers waited patiently for their turn at the ticket check.

Salpicón, a seriously clever Magikito, was right there among them. With his pointy hat full of tiny bells, he watched the crowd with bright, curious eyes. He loved seeing people together, especially when they were in a good mood.

Then Ronaldo showed up. A rich guy, alone, impatient, the type who’s used to being above everyone else. He pushed straight to the front, brushing past kids and elderly folks who’d been waiting with that excited, happy sparkle. Salpicón frowned. He couldn’t stand selfish moves like that. So he decided this guy was due for a little manners lesson.

He slipped through the crowd like a whisper and reached the selfish gentleman. Quick as anything, Salpicón whipped up a sauce from perfectly ripe tomatoes. He sprinkled in a magical thickener and, with a cheeky giggle, soaked the ticket Ronaldo was about to use to get into the cinema.

The paper, now wet and splattered with red, turned almost impossible to read. Ronaldo, totally clueless, strolled up to the entrance check like nothing could touch him. When he handed over his ticket, the attendant raised one eyebrow, then the other.

“I’m sorry, sir,” he said, firm and calm, “but I can’t accept your ticket like this. It’s completely covered in… tomato sauce?”

Ronaldo stared at his ticket, eyes wide. He tried wiping it with his hands, but thanks to the magical thickener he only managed to smear his fingers even more, until you couldn’t make out a thing.

“But I bought it just a minute ago!” he protested, trying to explain. “I don’t know how it got dirty… maybe from the pizza I ate before coming.”

“Doesn’t matter how it happened, sir. Without a valid ticket, you can’t come in,” the attendant replied.

“Fine, then give me another one and let me in. I’ve got money to spare.”

He pulled out a wallet stuffed with bills and flashed it at the attendant.

“I’m afraid all tickets are sold out. Please step out of the line and let the others through, thank you.”

Ronaldo stood there, stunned and open-mouthed, while the rest of the line moved along with satisfied smiles. Salpicón, hiding behind a decorative plant, let out a tiny laugh and snapped his fingers again. A soft magical breeze drifted through the cinema, and suddenly everyone caught a delicious smell of tomato and fresh basil. Magic, done.

As the grumpy rich guy stormed off, the rest of the crowd kept going in, happy as can be. They were beyond ready to finally watch the movie they’d been waiting for.

From his hiding spot, Salpicón watched with a smug little grin. He knew that sometimes a small prank can teach a big lesson. He chuckled once more and got himself ready for his next adventure, pleased to have sprinkled a bit of justice on the night and, of course, a tasty touch of tomato sauce.
